Dachshund Happytails Puppy Purchase Agreement

Review each term carefully before signing. This agreement is entered into by Dachshund Happytails (the "Seller") and the individual identified in this form (the "Buyer").

1. Health and Wellness Protection

The Seller represents that the puppy is in excellent health when placed and current on all required vaccinations and deworming treatments. The following health and wellness protections apply:

a. Veterinary Examination: Within seven (7) days after receiving the puppy, the Buyer must arrange a complete examination by a licensed veterinarian. If that examination reveals an underlying illness or serious congenital defect, the Seller will refund the full adoption fee and transportation costs after the puppy is returned.
b. IVDD Coverage: Coverage for Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) remains in effect throughout the puppy's lifetime. Following an IVDD diagnosis confirmed by two (2) licensed veterinarians, the Seller will provide a replacement puppy of equal value or refund the full adoption fee and transportation costs after the puppy is returned.
c. Communicable Diseases: If a communicable disease is diagnosed within fourteen (14) days after the Buyer receives the puppy, the Seller will refund the full adoption fee and transportation costs after the puppy is returned.

2. Travel and Homecoming

a. Shipping: When transportation is requested, all related costs are the Buyer's responsibility. A reputable pet transportation provider will carry the puppy, and detailed tracking information will be shared with the Buyer.
b. Pickup: For personal pickup, a non-refundable $475 deposit is due when this agreement is signed. The remaining purchase balance must be paid in full at pickup.

3. Purchase Price and Payment

The entire puppy purchase price must be paid before delivery or pickup. When pickup is selected, the non-refundable $475 deposit is due with this agreement and the remaining amount becomes due when the puppy is collected.

4. Buyer's Standard of Care

The Buyer agrees to provide suitable nutrition, fresh water, safe shelter, appropriate exercise, and routine veterinary care. The Buyer must also follow every applicable state and local requirement governing dog ownership.

These terms represent the complete understanding between the parties. A change is valid only when documented in writing and signed by both Seller and Buyer.
