Your Puppy's Early Protection Plan

Timely vaccination plays an essential role in early wellness. Every puppy receives the protection appropriate for their age before leaving our care.

Protection Provided Before Going Home

Puppies typically receive their initial core vaccination between six and eight weeks old. The included DHPP vaccine provides protection against:

  • Distemper
  • Hepatitis (Adenovirus)
  • Parvovirus
  • Parainfluenza

Recommended Continuing Schedule

After homecoming, your veterinarian should guide and complete the remaining schedule:

Age Recommended Protection
6-8 weeks Initial DHPP dose — provided in our care
10-12 weeks Second DHPP dose
14-16 weeks Third DHPP dose and rabies vaccine
12-16 weeks Bordetella when recommended

Protect Them During This Window

Until the full vaccine series is complete, limit exposure to places visited by dogs with unknown vaccination status, including dog parks, pet stores, and busy public sidewalks.

Routine Parasite Prevention

Regular deworming begins at two weeks of age to address common intestinal parasites and support a healthy transition into your home.

Organized Records for Your Veterinarian

Your puppy arrives with a complete vaccination and deworming record containing:

  • Administration dates for every vaccine
  • Recorded vaccine brands and lot numbers
  • Deworming medications with treatment dates
  • Guidance for upcoming vaccine appointments
